The Summer of 2026 has been a hot one so far. We’re into the third week of August and thankfully it’s cooling down a bit. But breathing in hot, humid air combined with Canadian wildfire smoke has been no picnic for people living outdoors. We’ve seen the toll that it has taken.
We’ve gone out on outreach as much as possible this Summer, sometimes five days a week, bringing thousands of bottles of water, snack lunches, light clothing, tarps, and hygiene items. Things have gotten tight for us money-wise. The demand has been great, and the donations have been down. It hasn’t been easy, but we’ve managed.
We’re always thinking of ways that we can do more. Capital to work with is always the stumbling block.
