A ‘gathering day.’ Mid-week we usually do shopping, (particularly at BJ’s Wholesale Club and Walmart) etc to replenish our stocks of food, water, clothing, and hygiene items for our outreach. We also go to various places gathering up donations of used, clean, in-season clothes.
Then comes the day(s) when we sort through what we have, package it up in batches for deliveries to the various places where we know unhoused folks in particular congregate.
It’s a system, a process that produces good results.
